MARDIA

lost 25 lbs with Horizons

People have many different reasons for wanting to lose weight, and not everyone who makes the decision to do so has a large amount of weight to lose. Mardia has lost 25 lbs with Horizons and describes her journey as “Hard but inspiring. But the results have been worth every second, every sacrifice, every minute of it. And ultimately it’s about being healthy, feeling good about myself – and it’s just been amazing.”

So what made Mardia decide to change her lifestyle? She says, “it’s about the individual and how you want to feel about yourself. So that’s why I went on the journey and went to see Dr. Rowser, because I didn’t feel good about myself and how my clothes fit and that was ultimately what it was about. It wasn’t about a specific number or specific weight but it was about how my clothes fit. And now I can get into everything in my closet and that’s what it’s about.”

But, weight loss is never just about looks because there are always other benefits to it. Mardia describes, “One of the things I’ve noticed now, is when I go to work out I don’t get tired as much or as winded easily. I think just taking the weight off allows me to do cardio exercise more easily, and I can definitely tell you that my knees feel a lot better, having more weight off of me. My joints don’t ache as much, especially my knees. And it’s more motivating. I’m motivated to move a lot more.”

While Mardia was successful with the weight loss program, she has also been successful in maintaining her weight loss. In order to keep the momentum going, she says, “Everything is about moderation. I still eat very clean. However, I don’t deprive myself. If I feel like I want a dessert, or something that may not necessarily be clean eating, like something fried or something like that, I’ll have a piece of it so I don’t feel deprived. But I don’t overeat, which was my past tendency. And second, just monitoring and just paying attention to what you put in your mouth and body. That’s how I maintain keeping the weight off.”

For people who are thinking about starting the program with Horizons, Mardia says, “ I would absolutely say do it. It’s just one of those things that if you are looking to lose weight, it helps you get on the path. You see results quickly enough to motivate you to continue on.”

The HCG program is divided into stages, the phase 3 maintenance stage can be where some people struggle. Phase 2 is all about clean eating, detoxing, and changing bad habits. During phase 3 is when you start to get back to “real life” and reintroducing more foods and options into your diet. The key to this is not falling back into the old habits that got you there in the first place. Mardia suggests, “The thing that made you start the program – keep that in mind when you are starting phase 3 and don’t lose the good habits you gained during the other phases of the program. So don’t go hog wild with bacon cheeseburgers and all that. You can still eat and in moderation, some of the crazy food, but those good habits that you developed – hold on to those. That’s what’s going to help you maintain the weight off of you. Just remember those good habits and the reason you started the program in the first place – that reason is still there. And never lose sight of it.”
